C. baccatum var. 'Criolla Sella'One of my favorites from many years back!
Exceptionally prolific and tasty!
Very sharp pungency!
I planted a stone under the roots and the root system looks great!
So this one will be very useful plant; at first it produces a large amount of pods. Then it will be turned into a tiny bonchi plant and it will be overwintered as a small, pretty bonsai chile under the lamps instead of killing it, overwintering it as a ugly large or cutted plant.
When the spring comes, I will plant this plant as a bonchi into a large pot again and it will grow huge again and produce a large yield, once again!
And suprisingly enough, the plant will be turned into bonchi again when the season is over!
Actually, many plants produce more pods on their second or ever third year.
Chiles are VERY useful plants for cooking, and even the ugliest plants can be very pretty as bonchi`s.
I highly recommend trying bonchi projects, definitely makes a perfect hobby even better!! :)
